I want more of the promised joy of the Lord in my life, and if I’ve learned anything over the years it’s that joy always follows gratitude.

So as we gather with family and friends this week and we look down the barrel of another holiday season and another year coming to a close, I offer up to you some questions to sit with, journal through, pray over.

How is my life better than it was a year ago?

What are five good things in my life that most people in the world do not have?

What are five good things in my life that I don’t even need but are just added bonuses?

What lessons have I learned about life or faith or myself or God this year that I wouldn’t have learned had I not been going through this particular struggle?

How many people can I really count on in my life?

What is one area of growth I have seen in each of my children this year?

How loved am I by God? (The answer, no matter who you are or what you’re going through or how you feel, should be “completely”.)

Happy Thanksgiving, sweet ones.
