I have been writing since I was eleven.  I pecked out my first poem – about seagulls – on a typewriter in my grandmother’s den, and I didn’t look back.  Deep down, way back then, I knew that words on a page would be my way of figuring out life, and if I were lucky, my favored way of expressing my thoughts to others for the rest of my life.
I have now written several books.  Some published, some sitting on my hard drive, one in my hope chest for some point in the future to find its way out into the light.
If you’ve enjoyed my Moments for Mom column (celebrating its tenth year this month) or my blog or any of my books, I’d love it if you’d pass this info along:
Calm in My Chaos: Encouragement for a Mom’s Weary Soul (2001) is a devotional for moms with your children.
In Search of Calm: Renewal for a Mother’s Heart (2005) is also a devotional for moms and wives.
He Is Just That Into You: Stories of a Faithful God (2009) is a collection of essays that remind us that we have a Love that will never let us go.
I’m happy to say that each of these is available in paperback or on Kindle at Amazon.com.
And I am excited to announce that I have a new book out as well available only on Kindle at Amazon.com.
One Girl, Third World (2011) is my journey from social justice ignorance to awareness, action and life-changing involvement.  If you’re interested in learning how one ordinary wife and mom ended up in Africa or trying to fight the AIDS pandemic and fight for clean water, my hope is that these stories will inspire you to find your own path towards changing the world.
Thank you for allowing me to share my work with you over the years; may there be many more words to come.
Elisabeth
